The route and how long it takes
The drive is around 230 km and takes 3 to 3.5 hours without stops. The route follows the coastal road, crosses the Pelješac bridge and continues towards Ploče and the Makarska riviera.
In summer, especially on Saturdays when rental turnovers happen, the coastal road around Makarska can slow down.
Car, ferry or bus
All three work — they differ in flexibility and in how much your day is tied to a timetable.
- Private transfer — leave when you want, door to door, stops on request; best for families, early flights and guests with a lot of luggage.
- Catamaran/ferry — seasonal and timetable-bound, with limited luggage and arrival at the port rather than your address.
- Bus — cheapest, but with more stops and no flexibility on departure.
Turning the transfer into a small trip
Since the drive takes three hours anyway, many guests add one or two stops. The most common are Ston (the walls and oysters) and Makarska or Brela for lunch by the sea.
Stops are agreed in advance and included in the fixed price, so there are no surprises afterwards.
